I find it hard to believe that a whole year has passed since we welcomed our 4th child into this world. Yes, 4th! Don’t see that too much anymore, do you? Our other 3 are age 7 and under, so let’s just say it’s never dull around our house! Last year this time I was on pins and needles as it had been a rough go, and the pregnancy had complications that made it high risk. There was some points that it didn’t look like James was going to make it; but he did and I must say he is a fighter, a true gift, and meant to be here to do good things in the world. And if you have looked around lately, like I have, we definitely need some help on this rock.
It was a life changing experience, and it changed the way I perceive problems now. Things that used to be a big deal don’t seem to have that urgency anymore. Not to say they won’t get figured out, but they just don’t compare the same way. It could be the fact that I’m getting older, though still a young buck in some people’s eyes…lol I hit 37 tomorrow, and I came to the realization that I’m pretty much half done. Whoa, what happened? Life happened, that’s what. Keep your eye on the prize too long and time passes you by. Not too much you can do about it.
So the next time something doesn’t go the way you planned, you lose money and get scammed; take a step back. Reflect. Accept. Then move on. Whatever the case, I think more of us should take the time to be thankful for what we do have, instead of worrying about what we don’t. Life is too short…yes you have heard that before, but for me it’s a truth that’s too hard to ignore. So I plan to make the most out of what I have, and enjoy my family more. 2010 is looking good so far with what I have my hand in, and if I can make some extra cash doing what I do online along the way, all the better.

I like your point “reflect, accept, then move on
Thanks Paul. Sometimes that’s all you can do, and hopefully you can learn from the experience.
Appreciate the comment!

Pete,
Seems as you grow older the months just shoot by
and when I was in school I agonized about how slow
it was and couldn’t wait to graduate and be out on
my own. My Dad always told me..some day you’ll wish
you were back there gain with your friends. He was
right then and now.
I remember when James was born…hundreds of miles
away and I was happy he was healthy.
Making money and buildng on that certainly got tougher
since the close of 2009.
Gord
Time flies Gord, most definitely. You know first hand what we were up against
and thankfully it all worked out, though we had to prepare for the worst. Kind
of like making money online I guess…you never know how it will turn out, but
you hope the end result is a good one….lol
Pete
We all get upset when we get scammed. But if we have our health and happiness,we got it all.Our prioities change as we get older.
regards
Neil
I couldn’t agree more Neil. Because if you don’t have your health, then nothing else really matters much.
Happy birthday to both you and James! And many more for both of you. Nice article!
Thanks Susan! 1 down and many more to go indeed…lol
Happy Belated Birthday Pete.
Loved this post. 37 hey I am 35 this December but me and Lou ain’t got any kids yet but we cannot wait. I suppose that when we do my blog will go through a paradigm shift with my style of writing changing. I do hope that I will have enough time to carry on feeding it though.
I love your friend ‘Gord’s’ comment about what our parents said about being in school are the best years of out lives and that we wish to be back there. How true that is as you don’t have to worry about bill’s, mortgage and losing your job. I still remember my schooldays as if it was yesterday!
Keep writing Pete.

Thanks Phillip! I too sometimes have to step back and realize that I am mid-thirties now and everyone isn’t older than I am. Time definitely speeds up, especially with kids in the picture. Though I would not change a thing
Appreciate the comments.
